Flu Immunisation

Your child’s annual flu vaccination is now due.

This vaccination is recommended to help protect your child against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and can cause serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu. There may be a rebound in flu levels this coming winter following low levels in the past 2 years because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Please complete the attached link by 30/11/2022 (one for each child) either consenting or declining vaccination.

The vaccination is a quick, simple, painless spray up the nose. Even if your child had it last year it is recommended to have the flu vaccine again this year as the virus varies each year.

A leaflet giving more details about the vaccination is available on the link below and includes details about the small number of children for whom the nasal vaccine is not appropriate:

Since the programme was introduced, most children offered the vaccine in schools have had the immunisation. If you have any queries, please contact the immunisation team on: HRCH.ImmunisationTeamBromleyMailbox@nhs.net  or Tel:  020 3903 3375.
