Parents' Evening

Parents evening how to

Parent’s evening is one of the best opportunities for you to meet teachers to discuss how your child is doing and it is important that you attend these occasions. These events are a two way process - while parents want and need to know how their child is doing, this is also an opportunity for teachers to learn about your child's home-behaviour, for example their approach to homework, and to make suggestions to
parents on how they can help with their child's learning. We therefore request you attend these meetings without your child, so that you can confidently talk to the teacher in private. It will also give you the opportunity to see their books and exactly what they have been learning.

Children will not be permitted into the school during parents’ evenings and unfortunately you will not be able to attend your meeting should you bring your child with you. This will ensure all parents have the opportunity to hold a private visit with the class teacher. If you have an early appointment, then please arrange for someone else to collect your child in this instance. If you are bringing an infant in a buggy, please ensure that you leave the buggy in the hall and take your infant with you for the appointment.

Appointments are for 10 minutes per child. Once again, we are using Gateway’s online booking system (https://graysfarm.schoolcloud.co.uk) for appointments. Bookings will open at 8am on Monday 23rd January and will close on Monday 6th February at 4pm; please ensure that appointments are booked before this time. If you experience any difficulty in securing your appointment online, please contact one
of the office staff who will be happy to help you.

Parent teacher meetings for Reception to Year 6 will be held on:

● Tuesday 7th February between 3:30pm and 7:00pm (The last appointment will be 6:50pm)
● Wednesday 8th February between 3:30pm and 5:00pm (The last appointment will be at 4:50pm)

Parent teacher meetings for our Nursery will be held on:

● Tuesday 7th February between 3:30pm and 4:50pm (The last appointment will be 4:40pm)
● Wednesday 8th February between 3:30pm and 5:40pm (The last appointment will be at 5:30pm)
● Thursday 9th February between 3:30pm and 4:50pm (The last appointment will be at 4:40pm)

Please note, as previously advised, there will be no clubs running this week (including paid clubs run by Dynamic Coaching); therefore all pupils should be collected as normal.

As you may recall, at our last parent's evening we had three stalls in the entrance halls so that families could speak to members of our team about wellbeing, SEN and feedback for the school. Due to the positive uptake on this opportunity to speak to wider members of the team, we are expanding this opportunity!

During parents evening, there will be more stalls including;

  • Bromley Y - Caroline Stevenson
  • SEN Support - Mrs Morley
  • Attendance and Family Support - Mrs Marsh
  • ICT Safety - Mr Morris
  • ACE - Mrs Hemmington, Mrs Adam and Miss Bellenie
  • Feedback - Mrs Gold

We will also be launching our Pre-Loved Uniform Shop! This is a fantastic opportunity to care for the environment by buying second hand. All monies raised will go towards supporting projects in the school. Thank you to everyone who has donated their old uniform. If you have anything with life left in it you would like to donate, please drop off washed and folded items to the school office.
