King's Coronation

King’s Coronation Celebrations - Friday 5th May

On Saturday 6th May, His Majesty The King will officially be coronated. As a result of his coronation, Monday 8th May is an official Bank Holiday. As a school, we will celebrate this historic event on Friday 5th May - with the children participating in a range of activities to learn about the King himself and the Coronation throughout the day.

On Friday 5th May, the children are invited to wear red, white and blue clothes (no football outfits) instead of their uniform on this day. Children may also, if they choose, dress as royalty for the day.

As part of the Coronation celebrations we will be hosting a Crown Parade which we would like to invite parents in to share. The parade will start at 2:30pm and (weather permitting) will take place on the field. In the unfortunate event of rain, the children will parade through the two halls as previously done at Easter. Similar to the Easter Bonnet Parade, if your child would like to take part, they need to bring their crown creations to school on the day (Friday 5th May). This isn’t compulsory but it is always lovely for the children to work on a project at home together with their family and a great opportunity to show off their hard work!

As always, thank you for your continued support and if you have any queries or concerns please speak with your child’s class teacher.
