Year 2 - Horton Kirby Environmental Centre
On Friday 30th June 2017, Year 2 will be visiting Horton Kirby Environmental Centre as part of our Science theme for last term, ‘Living Things and Their Habitats’.
Children should arrive promptly to school by no later than 8.30am, where they will be met by their class teacher in the main hall. We are expected to arrive back to school by 4pm at the latest, however we will keep parents updated regarding the return journey via text/the school app.
In order for the trip to go ahead, we are asking for a contribution of £12.50 per child to cover the cost of the train and visit. Payment and permission can be made via the ‘School Gateway,’ our online payment system. The last day that payments can be made is Friday 23rd June. Please do not send cash in to the office as this will be returned to you.
Your child will need to:
- Wear suitable clothing to take part in an ‘outdoor activity’ e.g. old shorts and t-shirts, wellington boots to change in to and a spare pair of socks
- Wear a sunhat and sun cream (please apply this to your child on the morning of the trip)
- Bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water (this could be in a disposable plastic bag to throw away afterwards). If you wish for the school to supply your child with a packed lunch, please complete and return the slip by no later than Friday 23rd June
