NURSERY

Because of the closure of school with  the snow, weather permitting we will be ending our dinosaur topic with a number dinosaur hunt in the garden. Children will take part to hunt the eggs and put them in number order.

The rest of the week we will be starting our new story called "Whatever Next" so children will be exploring about space, number, light and dark and reflection.
Please refer to the notice board located in the garden for daily updates.

We will inform you as soon as possible the new date for World Book Day.

Thank you for your continued support.

RECEPTION

Due to the closure of school last week, we are going to continue with Superworm, as per last week's notification.  We hope to reschedule World Book Day soon.

YEAR 1

In Maths we will be beginning work on money, with a focus on recognising coins and comparing values.

In English we will finish writing the story of ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ and then innovating the story by changing the character and events. We will then write our own new version of the story.

Topic - we will begin our topic of volcanoes.

YEAR 4

In Year 4 in Maths we are going to get back to what we couldn’t cover this week because of the snow: multiplying two digit numbers by a two digit number using the grid method and dividing three digit numbers by a one digit number using bus stop method. Also, we are going to convert between different units of measure and calculate perimeter.

In English, we will continue our learning through the text Treasure Island. We will plan and write our own version of the story, whilst applying our use of fronted adverbials, inverted commas and expanded noun phrases.

In English, we will be writing a diary entry and starting a newspaper article based around ‘The Sheep-Pig’.

In maths, we will be looking at multiplication, new division methods and line graphs and pie charts.

In topic, we continue our work around rivers and floods.

YEAR 6

In year 6 we will be investigating the features of a newspaper article and using these to write our own reports.

In maths we will be focusing on length, distance and time intervals.
