NURSERY

The nursery will continue the theme of Egg Drop, we will be having our World Book Day on Monday 26th March.

On Tuesday 27th March we now have an Easter Bonnet Parade, Nursery will be involved in the morning Parade with the rest of the school and the afternoon children will have a separate one in the afternoon. Both which you will be able to see on Tapestry.

On Wednesday 28th March please can you bring in a hard boiled egg for the children to decorate at nursery and Thursday the children will be taking part in an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden.

RECEPTION

This week we will be thinking about Easter, and continuing to care for our 13 chicks. You are welcome to pop in and see them in  both classes briefly before and after school. We will be writing Easter messages, thinking about patterns and recapping all taught phonemes in Phonics.

On Monday it is World Book day for our school, and we are using the theme of Superworm as previously advised. If your child is making  an Easter Bonnet, please send them in on Tuesday 27th, and come and join us in the playground for our annual Easter Parade. Why not then come with us to St Barnabas church for our service? Our last day is Thursday 29th, and we would like to wish you all Seasons Greetings at Easter, and hope you all have a good rest. School starts back on Monday 16th April.


YEAR 1

In maths we will be revising 2D shapes and beginning to look at 3D shapes, with a focus on naming and describing their properties.

In English we will be reading the book 'Aliens Love Underpants' as part of our World Book Day theme. Children will be writing a description of their own alien as well as designing and describing a pair of underpants!
 

YEAR 2

Next week, the children will be writing a character description focusing on their use on conjunctions. In Maths, we will be studying 3d shapes and their properties.

 

YEAR 3

English: Our English work is based on 101 Dalmatians for our belated World Book Day. We are continuing to focus on using sub-headings and will be writing in a variety of different non-narrative styles.

Maths: It is shape week! We will be describing, sorting and comparing, as well as making a range of 3D shapes.

Topic: We will be doing some Art based on 101 Dalmatians. Then we are learning more about Volcanos, where the children will be researching a famous eruption using the ipads.

YEAR 4

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Monday by creating playscripts and using these to perform parts of the story to our peers. We will also be reading a range of  Easter/Springtime poems and using their structures as a model for us to write and publish our own!
 

YEAR 5
