We are overwhelmed at how well the children have settled into nursery and thank you for your support in doing so.

We shall now be exploring our new story topic on "Elmer the Elephant" children will be exploring colours in a variety of ways from mixing colours, using coloured touches, exploring light and dark. We shall also be talking about what makes a good friend and how do we help and share with our new friends.

Please see the board at the entrance of the nursery doorway from the garden for daily updates and how you can support your child at home.

Next week you will see a poster regarding our Parents evening, there will be a time slot of 10 minutes for you to talk to Mrs Penfold about your child's progress so far at nursery.

YEAR 1

This week we are using Whatever Next as our base for writing our own stories based on going Whoosh up through the chimney and up, up and away. We are continuing to learn spellings weekly in class and are having some success in using them in our writing throughout the week.

In Maths we are beginning work on subtraction and recording our own calculations. Our Science theme continues with us thinking about clothing we wear in different seasons and why. Please help us to recite the months of the year in order! Our Topic of Toys sees us sorting through old and new toys to look at their different features. Please try and ensure your child reads every day: the book they bring home, a book from home or Bug Club online!
