Week Beginning: 26 February 2019

NURSERY

We hope you had a great break.

Nursery will start their new theme based around the story of “ The Selfish Crocodiles”.

We will be doing some support work on sharing and being kind. We will look at foods that are good and bad for our teeth and talking about the importance of cleaning our teeth.

As usual keep your observations on tapesrty coming in as we like to share them with the children.

RECEPTION

Welcome back to the children and parents of Reception. We hope you have had a restful half term. This term we will begin our topic of Growing and changing in different environments. We will be exploring the growth of animals from the jungle to farms. We will also be looking at the growth of plants, humans and animals.

We will be beginning with our jungle theme and our class book will be Rumble in the Jungle. We will be writing our own riddles as the jungle animals (simple sentences with capital letters, finger spaces, and full stops as well as using our phonics).

In Maths we will be securing our number knowledge, counting up and down to 10, and then to 20. We will be practising finding one more and one less than a given number using a number line.
A reminder that on Friday 8th March it is World Book Day. The children have the option of dressing up as their favourite book character.

Please continue to look at Tapestry and if you have any questions please do come and ask a member of the team.

Thank you for your continued support.
