Dinner Money - Important Notice

Graysgenerictwitter

We have recently been working hard to reduce the large amount of debt that has built up on dinner money. TKAT are encouraging all schools to have zero arrears on not just school meals, but trips and school activities as all debts have to be reported to external agencies.

We have a policy of sending out daily texts to anyone that has a debit balance on their dinner money account; however small that may be. If you have a debit balance, you will be asked to pay online or bring your child a packed lunch to school by 11.30am. If we have to continually contact you to remind you to pay your dinner money, your child may be excluded from having a hot school meal and this will unfortunately include any themed lunches.

With this in mind, it is really important that all school meals are paid for, before your child comes to school on the day they are having a dinner. Ideally, we would like you to pay at the beginning of the week, half termly or termly. Please make sure, payments are made in multiples of the cost of a school meal, which is £2.10. You will never lose money as any credit balance will be carried forward to the following week.

In simple terms, if your child is in Key Stage 2, and you pay for meals, your child should never have a debit balance.

Throughout the school year, we will be having several themed lunches. Please remember, that to be eligible to take part in these special lunches, all dinner money debt has to be cleared.

As always, if you think you may be entitled to free school meals, please contact a member of the office staff who will be happy to check instantly for you. You will just need to provide them with your full name, date of birth and national insurance number.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
