Free SATs Breakfast Club

Sats

During the week of SATs, we will be offering a free breakfast club to every year 6 pupil. The breakfast club has three aims:

1. To provide the children with a healthy and filling breakfast - evidence suggests that children who have eaten a healthy breakfast prior to the school day have greater concentration and, as a result, perform better.

2. To help the children get their minds and bodies active and ready for the challenges they face - there will be games and activities for the children to do which will help them wake up ready to do their best.

3. To reassure the children and settle any nerves by providing a friendly, calm environment prior to the tests - we all know that SATs week can be a very stressful time for our children. Having time to talk to their teachers/peers about any last minute concerns allows the children to feel prepared.

A variety of breakfasts will be provided. It is not compulsory, however, previous years have shown that it can greatly benefit every child. Even if your child doesn’t want to eat breakfast at school, we strongly recommend they attend just for the games. This ensures they are here on time and are of the right mind-set.

It will be open every day of SATs week from 8am in the dining hall. Children should arrive and register at the dining hall doors. We strongly encourage children to arrive at 8am to allow time to eat, play and relax.

Siblings of year 6 pupils are not entitled to the free breakfast club. If they arrive at school early, you will need to pay the normal breakfast club fee.

Thank you for your continued support - if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any member of the year 6 team.
