Reopening to other year groups

Graysgenerictwitter

The last few weeks at Gray’s Farm have been such a lovely time in school. It has been wonderful to hear the children's laughter, to re-adjust back to school life, and into a new normal. The children and staff have been so happy to be back here and working on their learning and we have had some fantastic feedback from many parents as well.

As we prepare for the end of the year, we are still thinking about the children in year groups that we haven’t been able to see since we closed back in March. As a result of this, school will finish for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 on Friday 17th July. This will allow us to bring back Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 for a session in school (in half-class bubbles of no more than 15) on either Monday 20th July or Tuesday 21st July. During this time the children will be outside (weather permitting) and will be involved in a mini non-contact sports day and will have the opportunity to catch up with their teacher and friends as well as saying a proper goodbye. Naturally, we will continue to follow social distancing guidelines on these days. More concrete details for this will be coming out next week but we would love to see as many of the children as possible.

Of course in particular, we will be extremely sad to say goodbye to our year six children as they embark for the next journey in their lives. They have been a phenomenal year group and we are so proud of all they have achieved. While we may not be able to host an elaborate production this year, we will absolutely do our best to give them the best possible send off.

Thank you all for your ongoing support
