This week at Gray's Farm - W/B 21/09

Week Beginning: 21 September 2020

NURSERY

We will be focusing on making new friendship groups, learning new routines,  practice turn taking and listening skills. On the board outside our nursery there will be an update of daily activities and focus activities we will be working with the children throughout the week.

RECEPTION

This week, we are settling all Reception children into the class, The children will be making new friends and having more opportunities to explore their setting. Children will be staying for lunch and will leave at 1.15pm, this week. RWI is in full swing and children are having daily sessions; we will be learning the sounds 't', 'i', 'n', 'p'' and 'g'. Please help your child to practise at home! We will be learning about ourselves and will be using the storybook 'You Choose' to embed our learning. In Maths, we will continue working on number recognition, number formation and 1:1 counting.

YEAR 1

In English Year 1 are continuing to write simple main clauses.

In Maths We are learning about place value - which means how many tens and ones (units) there are in a number eg 23 has 2 tens and 3 ones.

Please log onto Bug Club to practise reading and please complete homework on Google Classroom. Thank you.

YEAR 2

In Writing, we will be moving onto joining 2 main clauses together with the conjunction 'and'. We will still be continuing with our book and Katie and the Dinosaurs. 

 

In Maths, we will be moving on to subtracting. We will be focusing on -1s,-10s and moving onto taking away 2digit numbers from a 2 digit number, while using dienes practically. 

YEAR 3

This week in Year 3 we shall be working on main clauses and coordinating conjunctions in English.

In Maths we will be looking at telling the time using an analogue clock and learning how many days in the months of the year. 

YEAR 4

This week in English we will be concentrating on learning our Fronted Adverbial skills. 

 

In Maths, we will be learning how to multiply and divide by 10 and 100 and re capping on how to use our related number facts. 

 

In science we will be writing our conclusions and observations from the  Egg/Teeth experiment we carried out last week. 

YEAR 5

 

YEAR 6

In Geography, we are learning to locate places by using a six-point grid reference. We wonder where our directions will take us.  We are continuing with our book Way Home and are going to be writing letters in-role as Shane. Please remember to read daily.
