Week Beginning: 14 December 2020

NURSERY

As this is our last week before Christmas we will be making Christmas arts and crafts. A reminder that the afternoon children's Christmas party is Thursday 17th December 2020 during their normal session and the morning children will have their party on the 18th December during their session. The children are invited to wear their party clothes.

There will be two special visitors during the party,  and one is dressed in red?

If you have any questions please see one of the Early Years Team.

RECEPTION

YEAR 1

This week we will be having a chilled Christmas themed week, recapping all our learning through maths games and activities, and our phonics through spot the special friend games. Please return the Read Write Inc books as soon as you can. Thank you for all your support this term, have a happy, safe and healthy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in January! Merry Christmas from the Year 1 Team.

YEAR 2

Maths: This week, we are recapping our knowledge of addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division, and shape with some
Christmas themed activities.

English: We are doing curriculum writing this week, with a lesson on
our significant individuals from history, a lesson on the Christmas
story and then showing our knowledge of carnivores, herbivores and
omnivores as we make science fact files.

We have been so impressed with how the classes have coped with the
changes this year. We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New
Year.

YEAR 3

YEAR 4

This week Santa has delivered year 4 a sack load of english and maths activities for the children so that they can practise their skills they have used this term. In the afternoons we will be practising our art and design and technology skills.  Please continue reading with your children every day.

YEAR 5

This week in Year 5, we are excited to be measuring and calculating angles in maths. The naughty elf is the focus of our English lessons - he will be writing an informative letter to Santa about his shenanigans and creating a mischievous poem.

YEAR 6

This week, we will be finishing our History topic on Crime and Punishment. We have learnt a lot about how crimes have generally seemed the same throughout history whilst the punishments have changed.

In RE, we will develop our understanding of the Christmas story whilst considering the impact it has on our lives today.

We will continue with our story of Dasher and use the skills we have learnt so far in our own version of Dasher.
