RECEPTION

This week in Reception we will be exploring the story ‘The Tiny Seed’ by Eric Carle. We will be thinking about what seeds are and what happens to them (and what we need to do to make them grow). We will be doing lots of planting of vegetables and flowers this week and observing the changes as our plants grow. We’ll also be looking at the season ‘Spring’ and what happens in this season.

In Maths, we will be ordering objects by size and measuring using non standard units e.g how many cubes long is the pencil? We will be using language such as taller, shorter, tallest, shortest, longer, longest.

2. Drop the 'e' and +ed e.g. baked

3. Change the 'y' to an 'i' and +ed e.g. cried

4. CVC word (consonant vowel consonant) Double the final consonant and +ed e.g. jogged

5. Something else - word changes e.g. eat/ ate
