Harvest Festival 2021

Harvestfestival

This year, as part of our RE and PSHE learning, the children will be considering the ‘giving’ side of harvest and exploring the fundamental impact food banks can have for many families. We will be using a short story by Lois Brandt titled ’Maddi’s Fridge’ to support the children’s learning.

Once again, we are delighted to be supporting the Bromley Borough Foodbank. We have been nominated as a Rice (500g packs preferably) & Cooking Sauce school and have been asked to donate items such as packets of rice (all varieties are welcomed, however, the preference is for 500g packs) and non-perishable cooking sauces; preferably in tins, jars, cans or cartons. Please do not send in fresh sauces that need to be stored in the fridge as the foodbank are unable to collect these from us due to the short best-before dates that they have.

Any donation is greatly welcomed and received - please send donations in with your child to their classroom, throughout the week of Monday 27th September to Friday 1st October 2021. In the past, your generosity has always amazed us and as a school we are proud to support our local Foodbank. The food that is donated really makes a positive difference to local families and individuals in need of support feeding themselves and their children. All food donated should be well within date and in its original packaging.

Can we please ask for all donations to be brought into school by Thursday 30th September.

We thank you for your ongoing support.
