Parents' Evening - Spring 2022

Parent's evening is one of the best opportunities for you to meet teachers to discuss how your child is doing and it is important that you attend these events. We are pleased to announce that parents' evening will not be virtual and we are excited to be able to invite you back into the school building. Taking into account the recent more transmissible variant of COVID 19, we request that only 1 parent attends parents' evening this time round, to reduce the number of contacts a teacher could have. We know this may be disappointing but we are trying to make sure this parents' evening (and the rest of the term) runs as normally as possible, and feel that limiting the amount of people in the building will help this.

These events are a two way process - while parents want and need to know how their child is doing, this is also an opportunity for teachers to learn about your child's home-behaviour, for example their approach to homework, and to make suggestions to parents on how they can help with their child's learning. We therefore request you attend these meetings without your child, so that you can confidently talk to the teacher in private. It will also give you the opportunity to see their books and exactly what they have been learning.

Children will not be permitted into the school during parents' evenings and unfortunately you will not be able to attend your meeting should you bring your child with you. This will ensure all parents have the opportunity to hold a private visit with the class teacher. If you have an early appointment, then please arrange for someone else to collect your child on this occasion.

Appointments can be made via our new online parents' evening booking system, which can be accessed at:

https://graysfarm.schoolcloud.co.uk/

For a step by step guide on how to book your child's appointment please see below:

Appointments for the Nursery can be booked between the following times:

Wednesday 9th March between 3.30pm and 6.00pm (The last appointment will be at 5.50pm)
Thursday 10th March between 3.30pm and 5.00pm (The last appointment will be at 4.50pm)

The following precautions have been put into place to keep staff and parents safe from COVID 19:

- Entrance to the school on these evenings will be via the main school entrance.
- Please can we request that parents wear face coverings when in the building (unless exempt), to try to reduce any transmission of COVID 19.
- Hand sanitiser will be available before and after looking at your child's books
- Meetings will be held socially distanced in the classrooms.
- All parents will exit the meeting via the doors leading outside of the classrooms

In the event that face to face parents evening will need to be moved online, there is a function on the new system for this to take place. Further advice will be given closer to the time in the event that this has to happen.

Please note, there will be no clubs running on these two days, so all pupils should be collected as normal.

We are looking forward to finally seeing you back in school.
