NURSERY

This week the children will be taking part in Easter activities  from Easter arts and crafts to number Easter egg hunt in the garden. Thursday afternoon the children will be having their Easter Hat parade,  so be as creative with your child as you like.

Friday morning sessions the children can bring in their home made hats for their Easter bonnet parade. We can not wait to see the finished results.

RECEPTION

This week in Reception the children will be finding out all about the Easter Story and the importance behind it.  They will be making their own Easter cards and having an Easter hunt on the last day of term. In Maths, the children will be continuing to look at 3D shapes, learning their names and exploring some of their features.

YEAR 1

In English, we are using all of our taught learning from past and present seasides to write a letter explaining the differences between the two. We will also be observing our growing beans and writing up a set of instructions on how to plant a bean.

On Thursday, we will have a visit from Reverend Neil and we will be learning all about the Easter story.

A quick reminder that pick up time on Friday, 1st April is 1:20pm and keep checking Google Classroom for exciting games and activities for home learning.

Enjoy your Easter Break and we will see you in the new term.

YEAR 2

Maths: It is Geometry this week and we are focusing on 3D shapes. We will be looking at the number of vertices, faces and edges different 3D shapes have and then sorting them based on these properties.

Writing: We are recapping on our Science and History knowledge this week. Our science writing will be instructions for growing a plant, and in History will be describing why each of the nurses we have studied are significant.

We hope you have a lovely Easter holiday.

YEAR 3

This week, Year 3 will be practising their geometry skills in Maths by identifying different types of angles. We will also be using our data analysis skills in order to collect and represent our own set of collected data.

In English, we will be writing at length using our Big Read Text 'Evie and the Animals'.

The children will still have PE on Wednesday and Thursday so school PE kits may be worn on both days.

YEAR 4

This week in English, Year 4 will be consolidating their learning and writing a narrative using a picture stimulus.  Their writing will include all of the skills they have practised.  In Maths, we will be comparing and classifying geometric and irregular shapes.  We will be completing our topics on Sound and The Romans.

YEAR 5

This week in Year 5, we will be finishing our class book 'Anglo-Saxon Boy' and finally finding out what happens to Magnus during and after the battle of Hastings.

In maths, we are continuing using timetables to solve real-life problems and will be learning how to translate a shape on a coordinate grid.

YEAR 6

In year six, we will be writing in-role about the impact that rationing had on a family's life. We will also be looking at what the Blitz was and how long it lasted. We will be completing our end of unit quizzes in RE, History and Science.
