Our story this week is “The tiger who came to tea” the children will be sequencing the story and developing their use of words like “first” “then” and “after”
They will be pretending to go on a journey to the supermarket to buy food for the tigers tea party, thinking about what form of transport they will use to get there.
For maths they will be problem solving, “if there are 5 sandwiches and the tiger ate 2 how many are left?”

In English, we are going to watch a short clip called 'Origins' to help with our imagination. We are going to describe the setting using expanded noun phrases. Towards the end of the week, we are going to have a debate about whether the little robot should go into the dark factory or not.
Year 3
This week in Year 3, we are adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators in maths. We will be learning how to identify present perfect and simple past tense in English and will be using imperative verbs in a set of instructions. In science, we will be designing our own investigation to learn how our bones change as we grow older.
Year 4
We had a great week celebrating V.E. day and the lesson on tsunami's was very popular too. Mrs Paris also resisted the urge to dress as a chicken for class photo day - even though it would be representative - you'll have to wait for the photo to come out to find out what did happen on the day. This week we are bringing the focus back to the modern day and the wonders of the digestive system. We are hoping that everyone who has been poorly this term is feeling better and hope your families are coping through it all, some of it though sounded like a good example of what can happen when the digestive system doesn't work properly.
Year 5
This week in Year 5, we are completing some assessments in Maths and Reading. We will also be looking at using prepositions in our writing and also relative clauses.
