GraysGenericNew23

Week beginning: 12th January

Nursery

We would also like to extend a very warm welcome to our new families—it has been a joy to see how quickly all the children have settled into their new routines.

This term, our focus topic is Woodland Animals. To bring this theme to life, we will be going on nature walks to explore our outdoor environment. We’ll be looking closely at our local plants and trees to see how they have changed with the season. We can’t wait to see what the children discover!

This week we shall continue to explore Winter with a focus hibernation and changes to the environment.

To support us with our learning we could watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RssSPp_3YTc In English this week we will be continuing to work hard on our letter formation in handwriting and will be looking at the features of poetry.

This week in Year 5, we are using our times table knowledge to calculate fractions of a given amount and will be identifying equivalent fractions and decimals. In English, we are completing our work around the whole school text 'The girl at the front of the class'. We will be using a variety of skills to add extra, relevant information to our writing including subordinate and relative  clauses, fronted adverbials and modified, expanded noun phrases.
