Week beginning: 13th July

Nursery

This week in Nursery, we are continuing to focus on the transition from Nursery to Reception. We will be talking about what makes a good friend and how we can help one another, which fits perfectly as we also welcome some new children into the nursery. Additionally, the children will be practicing their singing and fine/gross motor skills, getting everything ready for parents and carers to watch next week!

Reception

In Reception Class this week, we will be continuing our learning about knights and castles.

The children will explore castles, what the different parts of the castle are called, what they were made of, why they built where they were, who lived at the castles and do we have castles now?

In maths we will be learning about exploration of patterns within numbers, this will include, practising counting forwards and backwards from any number, exploring different ways of making ten and recognising and extending a pattern.

Please ensure you continue to practise letter and number formation with your child to ensure that they have a great start in Year 1.
