This week at Gray's Farm - W/B 20th July

Week beginning: 20th July
Nursery
Nursery looks forward to welcoming parents to our end-of-term singing performance on Tuesday.
This is a bittersweet time of year as we prepare to say goodbye to our older children who are moving on to Reception. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished and know they will continue to achieve amazing things in their next chapter.
After the performance, we invite you to join us for afternoon tea to celebrate the children's hard work.
Thank you for your continued support this year. We wish you a wonderful summer break and look forward to welcoming our returning families back at the start of next term.
Reception
n Reception Class this week, we will be looking at transitions, discussing what their favourite moments have been this year. In maths we will be learning about exploration of patterns within numbers, this will include, addition, subtraction, doubles and applying knowledge of number, shape and measures in their surrounding environment.
Please ensure you continue to practise letter and number formation with your child to ensure that they have a great start in Year 1.
Please remember we have early finish on Wednesday.
We just wanted to take a moment to say how incredibly proud we are of all the children. The journey they have been on with us through Reception has been nothing short of magical. From those tentative first steps through the classroom door in September to the confident, curious, and kind learners they have become, they have brought so much joy to our classrooms. Thank you for partnering with us every step of the way. We couldn’t be prouder of them.
Year 1
In Year 1, we will be having an Art Day where we will put the skills we have learnt this half term into practice by painting in the style of Yayoi Kusama. In Maths, we will be making and playing maths games with our friends, and in English, we will be writing a letter to our new teachers.
Year 2
This week in Maths, we will be working on multiplication.
In English, we will continue working on a range of year 2 grammar and punctuation skills.
Year 3
In English, we are going to publish our books.
In Maths, we are going to complete subtraction and addition worksheets.
Could you please send your child in with a strong carrier bag on Monday as they will bring their books home?
On Wednesday, it is early finish time so children will be dismissed at 1:20pm.
Thank you so much for all your support this year, we are wishing you a great Summer holiday!
Year 4
Year 4 will be finishing their English learning off by writing letters to the new year 4 pupils about what to expect in year 4. We will be beginning to look at modal verbs as part of our writing to help prepare us for year 5. Mrs O'Brien's maths group will be continuing to use coordinates to solve problems. Miss Wigfield's maths group will be investigating different ways to make a whole using fractions and decimals.
Year 5
Next week is our last week of Year 5 and what a year it has been!
We will be concluding our time in Year 5 with lots of art - sculpture to be precise. We will be designing, creating and painting our own food sculptures. We will need lots of newspapers for this so please bring some in if you have any at home.
Year 6
Well with only two and a half days to go until we say goodbye to our year sixes, there's still lots to do. Team games, wet morning, colour run and of course on Wednesday our Leavers assembly. Remember to bring your tissues as there will be plenty of tears. Happy summer holiday everyone.
