Graysgeneric

Week Beginning: 10th July 2023

NURSERY

This week in nursery, we shall  be recapping on sounds we have learnt so far and  play FRED talk games so children can hear blended sounds to make a word. The children will have the opportunity to practice letter formation through different ways e.g writing them in the sand, using chalks on the ground whilst continuing to develop pencil control.

Throughout our continuous provision shall be counting and recognising numbers to 10 forwards and backwards as well as  matching number to quantity. Please continue to support your child at home with these activities in readiness for Reception class.

RECEPTION

In Reception this week the children are starting their final topic around 'Knights and Castles'. They are going to be learning about the different parts of the castle and what they were used for. They are then going to use this knowledge to help them with their independent writing. They are going to be using the story of 'Zog' to help them tell imaginative stories with their friends. in Maths they are going to be looking at sharing out quantities and objects as early division.

Please remember to send your child in with a sun hat and sun cream already applied at home if it looks hot or a waterproof coat if it looks like rain - the joys of the British weather!  Don't forget - Thursday is sports day so the children need to come in wearing their PE kits and bring a bottle of water to take out to the field with them.  Many thanks and see you there!
