Run Your Own Business! KS2
We are giving your child the chance to become an entrepreneur by creating their own business idea to be in with a chance to win £1000, a trip to Buckingham Palace and a meeting with Peter Jones from Dragons’ Den! We will select five of the best teams to run their business and enter the competition!
Rules:
No more than 15 children in each group from the same class
Businesses must be run during school time (e.g. break times or for a short period after school)
Children must be able to run their business independently but parents / carers may assist in resourcing
The business must aim to make a profit
Children must research and resource everything they need but may have parental support with this
They cannot spend more than £150 to start their business (this money will be provided by The Peter Jones Foundation) but once they start making money, they can use some profit to buy more resources / make changes etc.
Business plans will be completed in class and must be ready by Friday 8th February 2019
Trading for successfully selected businesses will commence between 25th February and 29th March
Things to think about to get some ideas flowing:
What do the pupils / parents / staff of Gray’s Farm want or need?
Are you selling a product, a service or an activity?
Could your idea be beneficial in any way (to the environment, to pupils, to parents, to staff…)?
What is popular right now?
What is new and exciting?
What is different?
