Welcome back after the half term break to what will be another challenging time for schools and pupils. I have no doubt though that your children will continue to get the best education and remain as healthy and safe as possible whilst at Gray’s Farm.
Back in September I wrote to you informing you of Miss Furneaux’s promotion to Primary Director of Education within TKAT which begins in January 2021. Since then, TKAT and the governing body have been busy with the recruitment process to appoint her successor. Following a robust recruitment process, which included ten applications, I am delighted to be able to inform you that we have appointed Miss Kate Groom as the new headteacher of Gray’s Farm Primary Academy.
Miss Groom’s experience includes being involved in a successful strategic leadership team at a school for the last seven years, which is evidenced by Ofsted ratings going from Serious weakness to Outstanding in the last inspection. She is committed, collaborative, confident and driven to succeed. She has a passion for education and a desire for children to be successful in whatever they choose to do in the future, as well as ensuring that children can be the best that they can be. Her dedication guarantees children develop high aspirations, self-belief, respect, compassion and an understanding of their world and their community. Her experience and knowledge ensure every decision is made with the child at the centre.
Miss Groom will officially begin her post on the 1st of January 2021 and as part of her induction, she will be visiting the school on a number of occasions before the Christmas break to familiarise herself with pupils and staff and, to ensure there is a seamless transition of information.
I am sure you will want to join me in congratulating Miss Groom on her appointment.
Gianni Bianchi (Primary Director for TKAT City)
