Sports Day 2023
Thank you for all of your feedback on our previous sports days! We have taken your thoughts into consideration and developed the below timings to ensure our children are participating during the coolest part of the day.
Please note the following details for our Sports Day, both of which will take place on Thursday 13th July,
- Reception & KS1 sports day - will take place between 9:05am and 10:20am
- KS2 sports day - will take place between 10:40am and 12:10pm
By popular demand, the family picnic on the field will return this year and will take place for all children at 12:15pm and finish at 1:10pm. Please bring your own picnic for you and your children. If you are attending the picnic, please ensure that you supervise your child/children and that they remain with you at all times until the bell calls at 1:10pm. This is for their safety so we appreciate your support with this.
Please note that when the picnic finishes at 1:10pm all children will return to their classrooms for their afternoon learning. We thank you in advance for your support with this and ask that you encourage your children to return to their teachers when the bell calls. There is no early finish for any year groups - usual collection times of 3:15pm and 3:20pm stand and you can collect your children from their usual doors.
If you only have infant aged children and would like to stay for the picnic, you are very welcome to stay to watch the junior sports day whilst you wait for the family picnic to begin. Equally, if you would prefer to leave and come back that is perfectly fine too - please ensure that you arrive in good time as the gates will be closed as part of our tight safeguarding policies.
Our Friends of Gray’s Farm team will be selling ice lollies and refreshments throughout the morning - all money raised is for the children of our school. If you are able to help on the day selling refreshments please do let the office know.
If you would like the school to provide your child (this is only for children who attend Gray’s Farm, we cannot accommodate adults and other siblings) with a school packed lunch on the day, please complete this school lunch form with their cold meal choice by no later than Wednesday 5th July 2023.
Payment details:
If your child is in the infants, there will be no charge, just fill in the form by Wednesday 5th July.
If your child is in the juniors (and isn’t entitled to free school meals) the meal will be the normal price of £2.50. Payment for this must be made through the School Gateway by no later than Wednesday 5th July.
If the weather forecast is predicting rain, we will make a decision on Wednesday 12th July as to whether the picnic and sports day will go ahead - let’s all wish for a lovely, dry day.
