Big Reading - Kamala Harris
This week in our BIG Reading sessions we will be exploring a significant individual…Kamala Harris, who has recently been in the news for making history as the first female, first black and first Asian-American US vice-president. Whilst looking at Kamala, we will also consider other women that have indirectly influenced her and ultimately contributed to her achievements. These women include Rosa Parks, (the significant individual we explored last half term), and Ruby Bridges. If you are interested in continuing these conversations with your children at home, or are just interested in finding out a bit more about these women yourselves, we have included some links below to some video clips. Look out for this week’s Reading Assembly too where Mrs Bell will be setting a little challenge linked to this half term’s significant individual.
