World Book Day 2017
Although the official ‘World Book Day’ date is in the calendar for Thursday 2nd March, we are excited to be celebrating it here at Gray's Farm this Friday 3rd March – A lovely end to the week. As ever, we welcome the children to come in fancy dress as their favourite book character. This is, of course, not compulsory. At school we will be spending the whole day completing a mini project around our favourite books. Look out for members of staff in fancy dress costumes and see if you can spot what the theme for each year group is!
‘World Book Day’ is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and most importantly, reading and is fully embraced by schools across the world. The main aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading. On Friday your child will be bringing home a £1 book token, which they are able to swap for one of ten ‘World Book Day’ titles or they can claim it against any book worth £2.99 or more.
